Troubleshoot server problems hardware and configurations and fix as tickets are opened. Installations and configurations, custom kernel set-ups,

FreeBSD, CentOS, Fedora, RedHat- installations
Goes without saying that you also know Windows.
We are open 24 hours and the shift that's open now is a graveyard and weekend shift so you'd have to be available for this and be alert- no sleeping on the job. Good communication skills - fast typing-

General Summary
Coordinates and schedules customer service activities. Works with the Technical Assistance Center group to resolve customer service issues. Performs goals and performance levels as prescribed by management. Identifies equipment and customer problems and reports them to the Field Service Manager. Works with Sales and Applications by providing installation and demo support as required. Maintains and performs Preventative Maintenance as scheduled. Performs equipment upgrades and pre-site inspections.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains excellent customer relationships and investigates customer issues reporting findings to management.
Ability to diffuse hostile situations and resolve political issues.
Work in conjunction with dealers without degradation of established relationships.
Investigates, identifies, and reports service process suggestions to stem future customer issues.
Identifies trends, potential product issues and works with appropriate departments in their resolution.
Maintains service records through established paperwork trails and Clientele.
Provides weekly reporting via time sheets and expense reports.
Provides customer feedback to management.
Installs and verifies proper operation of R2 products at the customer's location
Performs preventive maintenance on R2 products in the field
Responds to customer problems, investigates, and resolves problems on equipment
Reports problems and repairs to the Technical support department at R2
Interfaces with the customer on any and all customer issues and resolves same
Provide on site technical support for R2 Marketing shows and regional Sales shows
Support the sales department in the sale of R2 products
Job Qualifications:
Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills
Able to interface with a wide variety of customers successfully
BS degree or equivalent experience in electronic systems troubleshooting- SUPPORT OF MEDICAL COMPUTER SYSTEMS STRONGLY PREFERRED
Knowledge of UNIX, LINUX a plus
Able to work independently with very little direction
Ability to accurately investigate technical problems and execute proper repairs.
Ability to communicate findings for possible resolution of the same. .
High-level computer and network troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to identify "quality" the performance of their assigned duties.
Ability to lift 80lbs.
Clean driving record.
Ability to travel via all modalities as required in the execution of responsibilities.
