Description: The City of Federal Way Police Department is currently seeking qualified experienced Police Officers. Federal Way, located 25 miles south of downtown Seattle and 8 miles north of downtown Tacoma, Washington is a city of roughly ninety-thousand people. The Police Department consists of 119 sworn Officers with a total compliment of 160 employees. The department is divided into four divisions: Administration, Patrol, Investigations, and Records. We have a complete line of specialty units including Special Response Team, Bomb Disposal Unit, K-9, and Motorcycle Traffic Unit. We offer excellent pay and medical, dental and vision benefits. Officers take part in two retirement programs with an optional third deferred compensation plan. We are a fast paced, progressive agency that utilizes the most state of the art training and equipment available to today's Law Enforcement Professional. All uniforms and equipment are provided. Out of state Lateral Officers receive up to $5000.00 moving expense reimbursement. Salary range is $49,368 - $63,072 plus up to additional 9.25% career development incentive. Lateral Officers starting salary depends on years of experience. Lateral Applications are continuously accepted throughout the year. Written tests and oral boards are conducted once a month (both on the same day). There is no physical agility test required for lateral applicants.
